    Where geology meets the studio. An exploration of geologic processes and the raw materials that shape clay. In this session, Lowell investigates natural additives that alter the color, texture, and plasticity of a clay body — and shares personal approaches to ceramic object making.

    The workshop includes a short video, examples of finished works, a look at how ceramic additives interact with glazes, and a demo of multi-stage building techniques. Finish with hands-on clay play.  Bisque firing included.

  • Moon Jar Hand -Building Workshop

    In this workshop, students will build a moon-jar-inspired vessel using coil construction. We’ll explore a variety of coiling and shaping approaches as we gradually build volume, focusing on proportion, balance, and refining the surface of a soft rounded form. Lastly, we’ll explore decorative elements using clay slip to introduce depth and surface design. The workshop focuses on how hand built vessels develop through structure, volume. 2 sessions- All Levels
