The Standard Boot Camp
New to pottery? Start here. This four-week intensive introduces you to Standard Ceramics and covers the fundamentals you need to work confidently in clay.
Learn hand-building techniques (pinch, coil, and slab), then move to the wheel to practice centering, pulling cylinders, and basic forms. We'll cover studio safety, tool use, clay preparation, trimming, and surface decoration. By the end, you'll understand the full clay-to-glaze process.
Includes one bag of clay, glaze, Cone 10 firing, and one open classroom session per week

Beginner Wheel
In this class you will learn the fundamentals of wheel throwing in this hands-on class for complete beginners. Master centering, opening, and pulling techniques while creating bowls, cups, and cylinders. Our expert instructors will guide you step-by-step in a supportive environment.

Beginner Hand-Building
New to clay? This class introduces the fundamentals of hand building pottery without the wheel. Learn essential techniques including pinch, coil, and slab construction to create functional and decorative pieces like bowls, cups, planters, and sculptural forms.
We'll cover clay basics, proper construction methods, surface decoration, and glazing fundamentals. Each week builds on the last as you develop core skills and explore your creative ideas. No experience necessary—just bring your curiosity and willingness to get your hands dirty.

Beginner Wheel and Hand-building Combo
This 6-week class gives you the best of both worlds—learn the fundamentals of wheel throwing and hand-building in one dynamic course. On the wheel, you'll practice centering, pulling walls, and shaping basic forms. Through handbuilding, you'll explore pinch, coil, and slab techniques to create functional and sculptural pieces.
Includes one bag of clay, all firing, and open classroom time* . ages 12 and up (*open classroom is only available for 16 and up unless you have an adult member with you)
No Prior Experience Required
Advanced Beginner Wheel
This class is designed to refine your wheel-throwing skills and build consistency. Focus on pulling taller cylinders, creating more complex shapes, and developing better control. Perfect for potters ready to strengthen their technique.
Prerequisite: Completion of our Beginning Wheel 1 or equivalent wheel-throwing experience
